INTRODUCTION This paper elaborates on the most common forms of microgrid control accomplished in modern protective relays for grids with less than 10 MW of generation. Inverter controls can be grouped into three categories: grid-following (GFL), grid-forming (GFM), and grid-supporting. GFL inverters are referred to as current control because the current is the physical quantity that is regulated. The first phase optimizes the power flow by minimizing the generators' active power loss while considering tolerable. The Relay block comprises two protection units, phase protection and earth protection.
