In this video I show a teardown and component salvage of an optical drive module. Optical drives typically carry many useful parts like actuators (DC & Stepper motors, VCA), linear motion elements, optics, and other neat stuff. It is also a QSFP28 connector on the other end so it fits into the same slot as the 100G QSFP28 DAC we showed previously.
